Weekdays, weekends

Yay, it's Friday!

As those of you that have been reading my blog entries in Sydney have probably found, I tend to find things to do on the weekends, but on the weekdays it's pretty sedate.

On the weekdays, the routine runs like this: wake up, go to work, come home, cook dinner, eat dinner, chat on net, maybe go to gym, go to sleep. Repeat for the next day until Friday.

I'm finding I'm living for the weekends at the moment. Especially so since I've been working pretty hard at work (laugh all you want), and have been pulling long days (until 7, 8, and even 9pm) most days. The deadline is just going to be so tight and there is just so much work that it's quite unavoidable.

Some pressure is good. It gives one a sense of purpose and drives one forward.

So it's the weekend now! Tonight is the office Christmas Party which should be fun (free food and drinks, how could it not be?) and tomorrow night is a concert. Nigel Kennedy performing Vivaldi's Four Seasons. I am very much looking forward to them both!

And we are sposed to feel sorry for you because....? ;)

Had work do today, and we paid $20 for wine tour ($40 for partners if wanted to go) and basically, just paid $20 for the bus ride. No free grog. Just bus. It sucked

I am most visibly unimpressed :(

Where was the concert you went to Dave? I am interested in seeing something classical at the opera house between the 27th and 30th December but am worried that it will end up being too expensive.

Any tips on looking for tickets?

kt, the concert was on in the main concert hall at the Opera House. There are quite a few different venues at the Opera House.

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra have a very active program, and you can view their schedule plus book tickets online at www.sso.com.au. The Australian Chamber Orchestra (www.aco.com.au) and Australian Philharmonic Orchestra also frequent.

If opera is more to your taste, Opera Australia (www.opera-australia.org.au) stage performances in the Opera Theatre at the Opera House.

The Studio at the Opera House is a very cool venue too, and I'm told that you can get some more off-the-wall and quirky theatre groups putting on performances there.
