Yay! Today I got unconditional approval from the bank regarding my home loan. I will soon be in Mortgage City. Ah the joys!
Apart from this, I've been in full steam ahead mode shopping for stuff for the apartment. As I mentioned in a blog earlier, I had 5 main things to buy. Now that Carmen has volunteered to buy her own bed, this has now been reduced to 4.
I've now found the perfect fridge - the Fisher & Paykel 440L upside-down Q-Series fridge with the Iridium finish (that's matte stainless steel for the rest of us). This little beauty is just pure pleasure to look at. Mind you, this beauty doesn't come cheap.
Washing machine I don't think I'll go all the way to the Miele, but instead will get a Whirlpool 7kg washer. This particular model is made in Germany, and apart from the solid build quality, features a delay wash feature and 1400 rpm spin speed (for dryer washing, and thus less time required in the dryer, saving electricity).
I think I'll end up getting the Fujitsu 3.5hp Inverter reverse cycle air-conditioning unit. It's the biggest one I can get, and in fact, may cause a power problem. If the electrical situation doesn't allow for it, I'll have to drop down to the 2.5hp model.
The final thing is curtains, and my gosh is there a big selection of these!!! So far we've visited the Innaloo Curtain & Decor Centre, Textile Traders, and Lincraft. I think I should spend the extra money to get them done properly, so I'll probably end up getting someone from the Innaloo place to come up and do measurements and give me some advice.
Of course, since I'm leaving on Saturday, almost of this buying and organising will fall onto my sister :) hahaha
Oh, and I still haven't started packing yet...
